Dr. David Finkleman

Dr. Finkleman has been Senior Scientist in the Center for Space Standards and Innovation of Analytical Graphics, Inc., since 2004. He is a retired AF Colonel and a retired member of the Federal Senior Executive Service. Dr. Finkleman is a Fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (member of the AIAA Standards Executive Council) and a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. He is a five time Paul Harris Fellow of Rotary International. He chairs the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) space operations working group and serves on the Consultative Committee for Space Data Standards (CCSDS). Dr. Finkleman earned his PhD from the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics at MIT. His career includes having served as an Associate Prof of Aeronautics at USAFA; Deputy Program Manager, Navy Directed Energy Weapons; Director of Technology and Systems, Army Ballistic Missile Defense; first Director of Kinetic Energy Weapons, SDI; and Director of Analysis and Chief Technical Officer, NORAD, United States Space Command, and United States Northern Command. He served on the Battle Staff in Cheyenne Mountain during 9/11.
